In the 70's Alasdair MacFarlane recorded ADR and Foley on many classic Australian films such as "Devil's Playground", "Picnic at Hanging Rock", "Caddie" and "Storm Boy" and became Peter Fenton's assistant and 2nd mixer on about 30 feature films.

At the end of the 70's he owned and operated OASIS RECORDING STUDIOS where he recorded and produced independent records, many of which became underground classics of the late 70's & early 80's.

During the 80's, Alasdair owned and operated PALM STUDIOS at Supreme Films in Paddington, a sound-mixing facility for television series, documentaries, short films, animation sound tracks and student films. Palm Studios also provided rushes screening, ADR, Foley and temp mixing for feature films.

During the 90's, Alasdair took a 2 year break travelling Oz with his family (and his DAT and M/S mics of course). On returning to Sydney, he spent 2 years designing large venue PA systems for Bose, including the Sydney Aquatic Centre, Stadium Australia and Panther's Football ground.

In 1996 Alasdair rebooted PALM STUDIOS as a digital mixing studio with ProTools and Dolby Surround and 5.1 monitoring. He has been working on a project basis since.
